Personal Note: My Interest In and Understanding Of International (Treaty) Law, and Why it CAN'T Override our Own Laws - Even When We WANT It To (eg Covenants on Human Rights)

My interest in and understanding of International (Treaty) law stems from two sources. The first was due to my utter astonishment and incredulity regarding the actions of the Bush Cheney Reign Of Terror in the aftermath of 9/11. Invading Afghanistan under the flimsiest of reasons (you may be harboring ‘terrorists!’) and Iraq (you have WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!) - yes, I heard these claims as they were made and thought they stank like the brimstone Chavez claimed he smelled wafting off Bush - but when we, the US, began discussing methods of ‘permissible’ torture on the floors of our revered Houses of Government - I thought, there HAS to be SOME supranational global entity that can STOP this literal MADNESS!

If you are hearing that I was searching for a supranational entity that COULD ‘take us over’ - READ: stop the war crimes being committed by Bush, et al - YOU WOULD BE CORRECT! So I enrolled in a semester long ‘certificate’ program at New York University in the summer of 2002 consisting of the following 5 courses - The Vienna Conventions, International Law, Treaty Negotiation, International Diplomacy, and The UN and its Agencies.

My sole intent was to determine whether the International Criminal Court COULD bring Bush et al up on war crimes charges (and thus stop the slaughter,) whether the UN COULD stop them by virtue of our membership and signing of Geneva Conventions, Human Rights Conventions and Covenants, etc.

SPOILER ALERT - NONE of these supranational entities ARE ABLE to intervene WITH OUR OWN LAWS. NONE OF THEM. NONE OF THEM CAN ‘TAKE US OVER.’ THE ICC CAN’T EVEN CHARGE US WITH WAR CRIMES!

This is why when I heard ‘THE WHO IS TAKING OVER OUR CONSTITUTION! THE WHO IS SUBSUMING OUR SOVEREIGNTY!’ I promptly knew the statements were false.

Why? Because I had spent a full semester at NYU studying INTERNATIONAL LAW AND TREATIES to try and get Bush and Cheney’s war crimes stopped by the international agencies and treaties we’re members of and party to - AND THEY CAN’T!!

Why? Because we won’t sign the treaty that would make us subject to war crimes charges and thus the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court BECAUSE it would lead to our prosecution.

Why CAN’T the WHO override our Federal and State Health Laws? BECAUSE WHEN WE SIGNED THE PANDEMIC TREATY, WE STATED THAT NO PROVISION IN THE TREATY CAN OVERRIDE OUR FEDERAL AND STATE HEALTH LAWS! Why CAN’T ‘The Siracusa Principles’ in ‘The International Covenant for Civil and Political Rights’ override our own laws? Because when we signed the treaty, we STATED THAT THEY COULDN’T! Here’s a link to all ‘human rights’ treaties we’ve signed (and haven’t) along with our ‘declarations’ where we state, point by point, THAT OUR OWN LAWS WILL OVERRIDE EVERYTHING THAT IS CONTAINED IN THE TREATY.

The second reason for my interest in and understanding of International (Treaty) Law came from after working my way through undergraduate and graduate school (BBA and MBA, both with concentrations in finance,) I drove myself to Manhattan sight unseen and landed a second level officer position in the Head Office of Citigroup. Head Office reports to the CEO and Board of Directors and crafts and implements policy, funds the corporation, and manages global operations. The year was 1989 and Citigroup was just wiping the mud off its face in the aftermath of the Latin American loan crisis when national and international regulators noticed that we had no policies concerning risk management. Head Office personnel had been slashed by 50% which is one reason someone as junior as I was placed in a conference room with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and tasked with developing both the risk analytics and policies that would come to govern all 1600 subsidiaries and operations in 99 countries.

Turns out, I was very good at developing analytics and writing policy, but my true skill was negotiating between the regulators including the OCC, New York Federal Reserve, and Bank for International Settlements, our Board, and the heads of our global and domestic operations. If this is beginning to sound a bit like international treaty negotiation, it’s because it, in essence, was. It took four years to finalize, receive approval for, and roll out to 80% of operations. Pretty much exactly like an international treaty.

I proceeded to spend the balance of my career at Citigroup traveling to the ‘forgotten’ remaining 20% of the world that was not yet subject to the corporation’s risk management policies. I was responsible for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent, and traveled extensively to the region for a decade presenting to and teaching Senegalese Central Bankers, Saudi Royalty, and Tanzanian back office clerks, and also through a centralized training center in Istanbul. As a result, I have a lifelong and unslakable love of the world and its people, a deep understanding and reverence for our varied and glorious cultures, as well as an unshakable belief in the basic humanity that binds us as one. Except for psychopaths. We are NOT ‘One’ with them, but I’ll not divert us here just yet.

I resigned as a Managing Director the year after the (then illegal) takeover of Citigroup by Salomon Smith Barney et al when I determined that they were going to dismantle the risk management function I’d spent my career developing and implementing, and I was correct. The only surprise was that it took eight years to implode in the form of the subprime mortgage crisis in 2008. And, I suppose, the other surprise was the fact that ‘they’ printed up 20+ T - Trillion - to bail out the utter fraud of it all, and most of America hadn’t a clue. ‘They’ can just *poof* trillions into existence? Who knew? Another story for another day, that kicking the can down the road that’s been going on ever since.

FINAL NOTE:

International Treaties are drafted and negotiated according to the Vienna Conventions, which govern the drafting and negotiation of ALL treaties. They specify that if there is no objection, one half of the negotiating body can approve the LANGUAGE of the treaty - and 2/3 if there are objections. The treaty (or amendments to treaties) THEN get presented to states for adoption, rejection, or adoption with reservations and understandings.

I’ll stop right now and clarify that it is ERRONEOUS to state that 2/3 vote and the treaty is ADOPTED!!

IT’S 2/3 VOTE AND THE LANGUAGE IS APPROVED (ADOPTED) AND THEN PRESENTED TO MEMBER STATES for acceptance, rejection!!

I had SIX HOURS of very amicable dialog with ‘a researcher’ in April of 2022 when I first heard the wild claims about the WHO (that had several of my oddly newly fragile friends shrieking THE UN IS INVADING IN MAY 2022 IF THE AMENDMENTS PASS!) How was this fear campaign any different from flipping ‘covid?’ The difference is that it FULLY infected the ‘truther’ community who had been somehow immune to the fearmongering ‘covid’ narrative! I sent ‘researcher’ countless emails with explanatory attachments. I even sent him analyses of the amendments to the International Health Regulations DATED DECEMBER 2021 which clearly came before Loyce Pace’s submission to the WHO dated January 2022, ‘discovered’ HIDDEN in APRIL 2022! But being analyzed by the international legal community AND PUBLISHED IN DECEMBER 2021? I sent all this material and spent SIX HOURS in dialog with ‘a researcher’ only to watch these inflammatory and untrue falsehoods tear though my beloved community of truthers like green on spring grass for nearly one full year.

Why? Anyone have any ideas? I mean, other than Lawrence Gostin - our man on the IHRRC negotiating the amendments to the CURRENT pandemic treaty - now calling the entire ‘truther’ community ‘conspiracy theorists’ in a Tweet last week for continuing to perpetrate these falsehoods - AND NOT DOING CURSORY RESEARCH, EVEN WHEN IT’S SENT DIRECTLY TO YOU?

I have stayed relatively quiet as I’ve watched, incredulous, ‘a researcher’ continue to tear through even my most venerated LIONS in - what do we call ourselves? Questioners? Truthers? Resisters of Tyranny? I’d like to stress here that I am FULLY aware of the supranational global entities all ATTEMPTING to tyranically take over the planet and hasten to assure you that if I take a FULL SEMESTER AT NYU JUST to ANSWER QUESTIONS I HAVE that I’m JUST AS fully immersed in ‘researching’ our current situation, and in fact have devoted 23 years to it since resigning from Citigroup in 2000.

So why do you think the fearmongering falsehoods continue? Oh, and you might want to have a look at Robert Barnes with Viva Frei, as well as ‘The Healthy American’ Peggy Hall. Both made a Rumble and a YouTube LAST WEEK saying EXACTLY what I’m saying (with the sole exception that a treaty CAN become binding with just the signature of the president, and bypass the Senate, that they BOTH misspoke on.)
